Even though it has a cardioid pickup pattern, it still sounds almost as good as my Schoeps cmc6/mk 41 hypercardioid, which is almost $2000. The NT5 just has a tiny bit less low end. I would recommend this mic to everybody! Its too good for the money.

The mic works great with the focusrite solo I also tried the mic with the behringer umc22 interface and also worked well. High volume on play back. Purchased second‑hand via Amazon. The short cable is defective at the internal connectors, making it unusable. Only the long cable works. Live recording of a harmony concert. Used with phantom power. The sound is reproduced well.
