This pack contains a set of four mint stamps, which were produced to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of John Harrison, inventor of the chronometer. John Harrison (1693-1776) was responsible for inventing the first accurate portable timekeeper or chronometer. This was to prove invaluable for safe navigation at sea, and helped the British navy in securing new territories at that time. Inside the pack tells his story and features pictures of his first four marine timekeepers, H1 to H4. Ideal as a gift or keepsake, making a wonderful addition to any collection.
