Salvia East Friesland Clary Sage Herbaceous Perennial Scented Flowering Plant (15-25cm Incl. Pot)

A versatile and easy to grow perennial with lovely flower spires. The Salvia ‘East Friesland’, ‘Ostfriesland’ or Balkan Clary Sage, is a compact cultivar with mounded, ovate, dark green leaves which produce a pleasant scent when crushed. Above the foliage are upright flower spires carrying panicles of tiny, tubular purple-pink flowers which appear from early to mid-Summer, lasting throughout and into the Autumn. A great option for patio planting or rockery displays.Plant in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils and keep in full sun. Tolerates partial sun but upright stems will wilt and droop when under too much shade. Prefers light, sandy or gravelly soils.
