Schlagwerk U80 Udu

Known for producing an immense and diverse range of percussive instruments, Schlagwerk present their take on the udu. Traditionally a ceremonial percussive instrument developed by the Igbo tribe of Nigeria, the udu is made of clay and has a characteristic, bassy sound. The Schlagwerk U80 Udu The udu is played by striking the hole in the side of the body with the palm of the hand to displace the air inside and push it through the long neck and the timbre can be adjusted by partially closing the neck opening. The neck itself can also be struck to add a higher pitched sound to the bass, and since the U80 has been finished with a striking design, it'll look just as good in the rehearsal room as it will on stage.
