Quickly removes phosphate and silicate for optimal hydrodynamics. Adsorbs 0.87 mg of phosphate per gram of medium. PhosGuard quickly removes phosphate and silicate from marine and freshwater aquariums. Although PhosGuard is effective for both freshwater and saltwater, it will work best in saltwater. It is not recommended for freshwater with a phosphate-based buffer (PhosGuard would remove the buffer until saturation).
