It uses PurePlus Technology, a revolutionary process that delivers crystal-clear base oil made from natural gas with virtually none of the impurities found in crude oil - making it 99.5% pure, based on paraffinic hydrocarbon content and significantly higher level of iso-paraffins compared to typical Group II and III base oils. Shell Helix Ultra Professional AG 5W-30 for gasoline and diesel engines is approved against the technically challenging General Motors engine oil specification GMW16177 (dexos 2).
