A multi-branching sunflower, Helianthus annuus 'Astra Rose' produces numerous heads over a longer season than single stem types. Regular dead-heading encourages continuous flowering. Plant at the back of borders to create a novel sunflower display. Growing Instructions Sow early spring to early summer outdoors where plants are to flower. Prepare the soil well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 12mm deep in rows 30cm apart. Germination usually takes around 21 days. Seeds can also be sown indoors in early spring in 7. 5cm pots for earlier flowers. Germination takes 1-2 weeks at 20°C. Thin seedlings to 30cm apart once large enough to handle.
