It's thanks to solid underbody protection that bikers have from time to time avoided unscheduled stops in the middle of nowhere. While, depending on the terrain, the existing engine protection protects the underside of the engine against stone chip damage and collisions, the area directly behind normally remains unprotected. In order also to effectively protect this area, extensions to the centre stand that protect the engine and front area of the engine block are now available from SW-Motech. This is basically a solid 3 mm aluminium plate which is attached between the legs of the centre stand or in the front area of the engine block. When the stand is folded up, the plate acts as a protective shield. It is highly recommended if you like to go offroad every now and again.
