HOW TO USE THIS LEVER: Insert the hook into the manhole, with the hook point facing upwards. Stand to the side of the manhole. Lift the handle slightly upwards to make the near edge of the cover clear the edge and drag backwards using your legs. Take extra care with square and rectangular grate covers as they can fall into holes. Use the hook tool to reposition the cover safely, hooking and unhooking carefully while staying aware of pinch points.
