Tate & Lyle Fairtrade Dark Soft Brown Sugar 25kg - Catering Bulk Bag | Pure cane crystals, rich treacly taste, toasted malty depth, vegetarian, gingerbread, fruit cakes, marinades, chutneys

DEEP TREACLY FLAVOUR WITH A TOASTED, MALTY EDGE: Dark soft brown sugar is refined cane sugar with a generous return of cane molasses, and that extra molasses is what darkens the colour and deepens the taste. Expect a rich, treacly sweetness with a hint of savouriness and a moist texture that melts easily into batters, sauces and stews. This is the grade to choose when a recipe wants colour and depth rather than plain sweetness. Stronger than the light grade, and clear in the bake. FOR RICH FRUIT CAKE, GINGERBREAD AND STICKY RIBS: Reach for this when the recipe needs a backbone: Christmas pudding and Christmas cake, gingerbread, parkin, brownies, treacle tart, sticky ribs and pulled pork. Bakers use it for colour and moisture, cooks use it for the savoury depth it brings to marinades, stews and chutneys. It dissolves readily, so it works in a liquid sauce as easily as in creamed butter. One bag carries a Christmas bake and a summer of barbecue. A FULL 25KG SACK FOR BAKERIES AND FOODSERVICE: Twenty five kilos of dark soft brown sugar in one bag, the format bakeries, foodservice kitchens and manufacturers order, and the lowest cost per kilo in the range. Uniform colour and moisture across the sack means every batch bakes to the same shade, which matters when you work to a recipe card rather than by eye. Store it off the floor, cool and dry, and decant into sealed bins. Trade volume with consistency built in. WORKS WITH TREACLE, SPICE AND SMOKE: Pair it with black treacle and mixed spice for gingerbread and parkin, with dried fruit and brandy for a Christmas cake, or with cocoa for a fudgier brownie. In savoury cooking it goes with soy, vinegar, mustard and smoked paprika for barbecue glazes, ribs and pulled pork, and it rounds out a tomato chutney or a braise of red cabbage. Golden syrup, ginger, cinnamon and citrus peel are all natural partners. It pulls its weight in both. PURE CANE SUGAR FROM A ROYAL WARRANT HOLDER: Cane sugar and cane molasses, nothing else added, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Tate & Lyle has been refining cane sugar at its London refinery since 1878, pioneered the sugar cube, and holds a Royal Warrant earned over more than 140 years of refining experience. Safety, quality and environmental care are managed right across the supply chain, from cane grower to sealed bag. Consistent colour and moisture bag after bag, every time.
