A dwarf French Bean that looks as good as it tastes! 'Nautica' makes a superb ornamental edible and it perfect for patio pots and vegetable plots alike. The compact, half-hardy annual plants produce pale purple flowers, followed by a prolific crop of 8cm (3") dark green, stringless, exceptionally fine pods with a fantastic flavour. This black seeded variety matures early and shows good disease resistance. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 30cm (12").Sow dwarf bean seeds indoors from mid-April for transplanting later on, or direct sow outdoors from late May to July. Indoors, sow your bean seeds at a depth of 5cm (2") in 7.5cm (3") pots or trays of free-draining, seed sowing compost.
