Coriander is a quick and easy to grow herb, supplying you with lots of fabulously pungent leaves! Cropping just 6 weeks after sowing, grow your plants indoors on a windowsill or as a decorative herb with finely cut foliage herb for the border. An essential ingredient for many curries, salsas and a host of hot and spicy dishes, coriander also injects life into cool salads. Sowings made in late summer will carry on cropping into winter if protected with a cloche.Sow direct outdoors or indoors in pots. Outdoors: prepare the soil by raking until it is fine and crumbly, removing any large stones. Sow thinly, 1cm (1/2in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart.
