Thompson & Morgan Sarcococca blooms emit a powerful fragrance during the winter, and it’s so strong it can cut through the chilly winter air too! Sarcococca plants are tough and resilient, thriving in deep and partial shade. Plants can be grown into a low hedge similar to Box. In fact, Sarcococca is sometimes known as Sweet Box or Christmas Box. Thompson & Morgan Sarcococca Hookeriana var. digyna has purple-tinged stems and the foliage is leather and weatherproof. From winter onwards, fragrant, firecracker-like blooms appear, followed by black berries. Plant them into the border, by the back door or front door or into large containers. Grow Thompson & Morgan Sarcococca in any moist, well-drained garden soil in a sheltered position, in semi-shade of shade. Sweet Box will tolerate full sun provided that the soil remains moist.
