Broccoli 'Tenderette' F1 is a unique hybrid between broccoli and Chinese kale, producing masses of sweet, tender florets and stems with an intense but mild flavour. This hardy biennial variety yields 2 to 3 harvests over the course of one month, making it an excellent choice for gardeners seeking multiple crops from a single sowing. The tender shoots are delicious raw or cooked, perfect for salads, stir-fries, or steaming. Plants grow to approximately 80cm (31in) tall with a 60cm (24in) spread. Sow seeds indoors in modules or directly outdoors from March to June at a depth of 13mm (½""), spacing seedlings 30cm (12"") apart. Transplant seedlings when they have four to five leaves, planting 60cm (24"") apart in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
