Kellen Hoxworth focuses on overlooked performance histories, such as the early blackface minstrelsy of T.D. Rice’s “Jump Jim Crow” and the widely staged blackface burlesque versions of Othello, as traces of the racial and sexual anxieties of empire.From the nascent
