Pro: the emitted light is very good and allows accurate focusing. Con: lack of a battery means it can only be used in a studio, and I would have liked a hook once mounted on the lens, which cannot be fixed and remains precariously balanced.

Handy to have, but it really gets hot, which is not ideal for close macro photography. The ring light rotates onto the lens, but does not lock onto the lens like the lens cap does. It would also have been nice if the light was dimmable, for more flexibility.

I’ve been using this for a few months now without incident as far as build quality, however like a few people have stated this thing gets HOT. Need your finger prints removed? Leave this bad boy on for 10 minutes then try to remove it.
