Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva 2001

López de Heredia produces its Gran Reserva only on Dantean vintages. This vintage, following on from the 1995, is certainly one of the finest wines in history, and a legend in the region. The wine has benefited from ten years' barrel ageing and then ten years in vats before being released on the market. Still young and full of freshness, the nose reveals aromas of sweet spices.
