The open design allows for immediate shedding of mud and debris and lower rolling resistance. The regular 100% cotton casing with high TPI (thread-per-inch) offers excellent puncture resistance, elasticity, rolling resistance and handling in corners. Neoprene is a 0.1 mm-thick protection silica coating applied to the casing to extend the lifetime by preventing the tyre casing to absorb humidity and mud. The coating does not affect the tyre functionality and comfort. The Flying Doctor casing is made with 87.5% cotton and 12.5% kevlar. It is lighter than the 100% cotton casing and more resistant on the sidewalls against sharp edges. The casing remains steady in the most extreme corners even when using low pressures..
