That is how we would describe Von Winning Pechstein GG Riesling, a dry German white wine produced in the Palatinate (the western part of the country). Von Winning Pechstein GG Riesling is a wine made within the VDP Grosses Gewächs. This classification system, set up in 1910, aims to guarantee both the quality and origin of German wines. Only 200 wineries have the privilege of being able to display its different categories on their bottle labels. Wines labelled VDP Grosses Gewächs are made from extraordinary vineyards, some of them centuries old, where only high quality grapes grow on unique soils. As the name suggests, the Von Winning Pechstein GG Riesling wine starts life in Pechstein, one of the vineyards located towards the north of the 42 hectares owned by this winery (founded in the 18th century).
