There are many different types, but the most used in cooking are brown, red, puy, green, and yellow lentils. These "beans" are extracted from their shells and split in half along their natural seams, allowing for speedier cooking and removing the need for soaking. When cooked, split peas are high in protein and fibre, low in fat. ✔ HIGH-QUALITY INGREDIENTS: Vegetarians may obtain a lot of protein from lentils. Lentils are an essential element of vegan and vegetarian diets when protein intake must be controlled! Wash in 3-4 changes of clean water. Soak in enough water to cover for at least 15-20 mins. Replace water with fresh water, bring to a boil for at least 10 minutes.
