Its form is evidently inspired by the natural beauty of wood and the gliding lines of an infinity-loop to result in a shape that echoes an acoustic guitar as well as a traditional violin. The YEV-104: Pure Innovation Since wood forms the starting point for this electric violin, the YEV-104 is made using six different wood species. The solid central parts of the body are formed by a combination of spruce, mahogany and maple. This five-layer construction ensures outstanding response while the surrounding oiled walnut frame and rosewood fingerboard only aid the voicing. As expected with a violin of this calibre, the chin-rest and tuning pegs are made from ebony.
