Yamaha's YEV-104 electric violin is inspired by the natural beauty of wood and the simplicity of flowing lines. This instrument is impressive to look at and listen to! The airy Infinity Loop design of the body combines the unmistakable shape of an acoustic guitar with a traditional violin. YEV-104: Innovative Design The YEV-104 electric violin is made up of six different types of wood. The solid body is made of a 5-layer combination of spruce, mahogany and maple, resulting in an excellent response. The frame around it is made of oiled walnut and the fretboard is made of rosewood. Lastly, the chin support and tuners are made of ebony. Tone and Tuning Stability Connect the YEV-104 electric violin using a standard mono jack instrument cable. It features the same piëzo pickup in the bridge as Yamaha's professional Silent Violins, so you can count on a warm, organic tone. It has D’Addario Zyex strings with an ingenious synthetic core for ultimate stability under all temperature conditions.
