The wide inner rim not only ensures lower rolling resistance but also allows tyres to be run at lower air pressures to reduce vibration losses and increase comfort. The hookless design creates a nearly seamless transition between the tyre sidewalls and the rim, ensuring extremely low air resistance. The absence of hooks also makes the rim sidewalls more robust in case of a puncture and contributes to significant weight savings compared to previous versions. Combined with other optimizations in the carbon layer structure, the wheelset weight was reduced to 1358 grams. This makes the 454 NSW wheels extremely agile and lightweight.
