The Zipp Goodyear XPLR Slick 700x45 Tubeless Ready tyre is a semi-slick gravel racing tyre designed exclusively for Zipp’s 303 XPLR SW and S wheelsets to deliver the fastest wheel and tyre combination on smooth to moderate gravel. It performs best in dry conditions. Today’s gravel wheel systems are mostly slightly beefed-up versions of road setups: lightweight, stiff, narrow, and aerodynamic. The issue is that riding on gravel induces harmful vibrations that slow the pace and increase fatigue over time. Additionally, gravel tyres often negate the aerodynamic advantages of traditionally narrow road rims. The Slick is designed to measure 40 mm on the 303 XPLR wheel. The new XPLR wheel and tyre system takes a completely new approach, optimising component dimensions to achieve the fastest setup on the market.
