Gräshoppa is conveniently switched on and off via the foot switch integrated into the power cable. The design is by Swedish design pioneer Greta Magnusson Grossman and was first introduced in 1947. Greta Magnusson Grossman (1906-1999) studied at the renowned Konstfack art school in Stockholm and opened her own studio in 1933 - a combination of shop and workshop. After marrying jazz musician Billy Grossman, she moved to California in 1940, opened a shop on the famous Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles and was one of the first to bring modern Scandinavian style to North America.
