Macallan Folio 3 was the third release of the planned 24-part Archival Series (currently on its eighth instalment), created to celebrate The Macallan’s advertising campaigns from the 1970s to the 1990s. The series - in particular the rarely available first through fourth editions - is much sought-after by collectors. Folio 3’s featured ad employed a pen-and-ink illustration from a Victorian-era Punch magazine to reference the traditional idea that whisky is best made in cold weather. Released in 2018 as a limited edition of 2000 bottles, Folio 3 was the last of the Archival Series to be available exclusively from the distillery itself. Bottled at 43% abv and elegantly presented in a book-shaped tin box also containing a commemorative illustrated booklet. Please note: this bottle is from a private collection.
