Butternut Squash 'Betternut' F1 is an improved variety offering a longer, thicker neck that provides more flesh and makes slicing easier. This semi-vining, space-efficient squash produces fruits weighing 2. 5-3kg with a smaller seed cavity, reducing waste. Powdery mildew resistance adds to its ease of growing, making it an excellent choice for home gardeners. Plants reach approximately 60cm (24in) in height with a 150cm (59in) spread. Sow seeds indoors from April to May in 7. 5cm (3"") pots of seed compost at 2cm (¾"") depth. Maintain a temperature of 20-25°C (68-77°F) until germination in 5-7 days.
