Vitax Blood, Fish and Bone is a traditional organic-based fertiliser formulated around three natural sources that each deliver a distinct nutritional benefit: blood meal provides a fast-acting source of Nitrogen that immediately stimulates vigorous shoot growth and the rich green foliage that signals a healthy, actively growing plant; fish meal delivers a broad spectrum of nutrients and naturally occurring trace elements; and bone meal releases Phosphate slowly and steadily over weeks, supporting deep root establishment. The NPK ratio of 5-5-6 provides slightly elevated Potash alongside balanced Nitrogen and Phosphate, making this formula effective across the full range of garden plants. Potash at 6% actively promotes flower colour intensity, supports fruit set and improves the ripening of vegetables and fruit crops - the nutrient most responsible for the quality and flavour difference between home-grown and shop-bought produce. The slow, steady release of Phosphate from bone meal builds the extensive root systems that underpin long-term plant health and drought resilience throughout the growing season from February through to October. Apply Vitax Blood, Fish and Bone as a base dressing before sowing or planting at 140g per square metre, forked or raked lightly into the top surface of moist soil. As a top dressing for established plants in beds, borders and around shrubs and fruit trees, apply 70g per square metre every 6 to 8 weeks throughout the season. One gloved handful is approximately 35g. Water in thoroughly after application if rain is not forecast within 24 hours.
