The Zipp 858 NSW Disc Centre Lock Thru-axle 12x142 mm Tubeless Rear Wheel is Zipp's signature aerodynamic weapon. Thanks to the rim height of 82 to 85 millimetres, they have a large sail surface that helps to break new records when speed is crucial. The handling, on the other hand, are more similar to 20 mm lower rim height wheels. Thanks to the wavy, patented sawtooth design, they are extremely stable in crosswinds. Also, the weight has been reduced to 243 grams (per wheel pair) in comparison with the previous version, allowing the 858 NSW to accelerate with ease, making them attractive for undulating road races as versatile road bike wheels. Thanks to Zipp's inner carbon reinforcement technology (CiR), the rims have been lightened by 10% and are as stable as the previous version.
